A Mother’s Perspective

The noise and clatter of the men cooking upstairs with Chef Brian fills my soul just like it did when my daughters were young and still at home.  What is a better sound than young voices laughing, joking, talking, engaging, and learning the value of friendship?  Today, an alum came back for cooking class.  Here at Jaywalker U, just like every other program in our continuum, the alumni are valued and welcome.  They bring long term recovery and maturity back to the programs when they visit.  So as I work in my office with the guys upstairs cooking lunch, I revel in the joy of hearing the voices of recovery, and I am grateful for all the young men that have been entrusted to Jaywalker U.

Stefan Bate, MA, LAC, CCTP Chief Clinical Officer

Stefan Bate, BA, MA, LAC holds a Master's Degree in Applied Psychology from Regis University and is a Licensed Addiction Counselor in the state of Colorado. Stefan has wide-ranging experience in the field of addiction recovery including: working as a recovery coach, therapist, and program director.
