Joel Brence, M.D. -- Board Certified Psychiatrist

Dr. Joel Brence brings more than 20 years of group clinical and private practice experience to his role as consulting psychiatrist at Jaywalker Lodge. Dr. Brence has maintained a private practice in Aspen, Colorado since 1987.
Dr. Brence earned his Medical Doctorate from the University of Zurich in Switzerland in 1979; he did his internship with St. Louis University Hospital in 1980; and his residency in psychiatry at the Cleveland Clinic in 1981 - 1983. Dr. Brence spends a minimum of one day per week working with staff and clients at Jaywalker Lodge.
Working closely with our multi-disciplinary treatment team, Dr. Brence provides individual therapy, treatment planning, and medication management for Jaywalker clients.
Jaywalker Lodge drug and alcohol treatment center offers a 12-step rehab immersion program in Colorado, for motivated men. Through education, individual and group therapy, mountain expeditions and daily 12-step meetings, our addiction recovery clients engage in a vital spiritual experience which is indispensable to personal growth and long term sobriety.
