Ty Richards

Ty has been a recovering drug addict for 12 years and says learning about service work was one of his greatest gifts of recovery. He started participating in hospitals and institutions, and a subcommittee of Narcotics Anonymous in 1997 outside of Philadelphia, PA. Taking NA meetings into rehabs, detoxification units and jails where it was difficult for an addict to get to a meeting.
Through this experience Ty learned that helping others find relief from their daily habit was a spiritual and fulfilling avenue. He began to work at a local youth recovery center and a detoxification center in the Roaring Fork Valley. After completing his Certified Addiction Counseling level two hours and classwork he started working at Jaywalker Lodge. Ty is a technician and deals with daily operations at the Lodge.
